Inez Ottinger, 96, formerly of 109 York Drive, Greeneville, Tennessee died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Wellington Place in Greenville. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.L. and Cora Hawk Ottinger, and an infant sister. Ms. Ottinger was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and was a active member as long as her health permitted. She retired after 39 years of service with the Cocke County School System. She was devoted to her family, her church, her friends, and she was a giver to all whose lives she touched. She was a volunteer at Takoma Adventist Hospital for 28 years and a member of various organizations in Cocke and Greene counties. Survivors include: several cousins, special friends, Doug Ottinger, John and Joan Broyles, Marilyn Donatelli, Charlsie Hawk, Bonnie Johnson, Betty Simpson, her church family, and Phyllis Luttrell, her care-giver for several years. Special thanks to: Joyce Ottinger and Sherry Sauceman for their love and support during her illness; staff and nurses at Wellingon Place; Dr. Richard Aasheim; and Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 26, 2013 with pastor Mark McLaughlin officiating with the burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm prior to the funeral service. Pallbearers will be Doug Ottinger, John Broyles, Dallas Ottinger, Norman Blazer, Donnie Owenby, J.R. Kinser, Allen Ottinger, and Johnny Ottinger. Honorary pallbearers will be the ladies of Salem Lutheran Church.
