DOAN , LOUISE DODSON - of Blountville, TN , died Wednesday, October 20, 2004, at Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol, TN . She was a native of Hardin, MO., but was a resident of Sullivan County, TN , most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Herbert Andrew and Mary Marie Kidd Dodson. Mrs. Doan was a bookkeeper in the office of Sullivan County Circuit Court in Blountville for seventeen years when she retired. She was a member of Adams Chapel United Methodist Church in Blountville where she served as a nursery and kindergarten teacher for many years, the Membership Secretary and Treasurer for a number of years and served on many committees. She was a charter member of the Women's Society of Christian Services, now known as United Methodist Women. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Doan (1993) and her only sibling, a brother, Herbert A. Dodson, Jr. (1997). Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, David B. Doan II and wife, Jane, and Roy E. Doan and wife, Linda, all of Blountville, TN , and Herbert A. Doan and wife, Angie, of Dandridge, TN six grandchildren, Elizabeth E. Doan , Alisa R. Doan , Deborah B. Doan , David Bruce Doan III, H. Adam Doan and Lucinda M. Doan Allin and her husband, Nate one great-grandson, Mattheus Isaiah Allin one step-granddaughter, Kelly King one step-grandson, Scott King one sister-in-law, Mary Helen Dodson of Bristol, TN three nieces, Brenda and Linda Dodson and Barbara Hickman and one nephew, William "Bill" Hickman. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 23, 2004, in the Adams Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Millard Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Gunnings Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at Akard Funeral Home.
