Mary Wanda "Bay" Buckner, age 73, of Newport, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her, fell asleep sheltered in the arms of God, November 21, 2004, at Baptist Hospital; of Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Buckner; sons, Terry and Dewayne Buckner; parents, Joe and Isamae Worex ; sisters, Betty A. Geams and Oma Omega Byrd. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael D.. and Lorene Buckner; daughter-in-law, Effie Buckner Fine; grandsons, Justin Buckner, Corey Buckner, and Dustin Gregg; step-grandchildren, Shannon E. and Rhonda Dyke; great-grandchildren, Jaclyn Ann Buckner and her mother, Tasha Southerland; adopted grandchildren; Miranda, Harley, Distney, Hohnathan,step-great-grandchildren, Lexie and Macy Dyke; brothers, Joe Worex and William A. Worex; sisters, Virginia White and Josephine Bryant; also several nieces, nephews, and a host other family and friends. Funeral Services will be held 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2004, at Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Fred Gregg, Gary Gregg and Rev.Bill Worex officiating. Burial will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 25,2004 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Eugene Hollifield officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
