She was a member of Laurel Bank Baptist Church where she loved to serve in the fellowship hall, especially during V.B.S. Besides being a talented cook, "Onie" enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing and crocheting. Many of us have beautiful quilts, afghans, and baby blankets to treasure as a result of her craftwork and generosity. Numerous guests have had the pleasure of joining her for one of her awesome dinners she loved to host. Leona loved her family, church, and community. She will be missed by many left to treasure memories of her.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 8:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Quinton Caldwell and Rev. Jayson Hines.
A graveside service will be held at Tuckaleechee Methodist Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Friday.
Leona's family wishes to express their appreciation to everyone for concern, prayers, and love shown during this difficult journey. Special thanks to Leona's caregivers, Sterling House of Maryville staff; Shannondale's Heathcare Center staff; Drs. Catron, Walker and Dirmeyer, and Blount Memorial Hospice for their wonderful care and heartfelt good wishes. Everyone has been so wonderful to work with, as we've tried to give her the best care possible. The family is so grateful. Most importantly, we give honor and praise to God for all His blessings and never leaving us in our darkest hours. May He bless you as He has us.
