He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Gaynell Sparks; daughter, Gail Shumate; brother, Bill Sparks; sisters, Paulette Sparks, Darlene Seabolt and Peggy Sue Kimmons. Survivors include: companion, Lizzie Cooper; daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie and Mike Pippin of Lynchburg, VA, Penny and Keith Harris of Jenkinsburg, GA, Tiny and Bob Jones of High Falls, GA; grandchildren, Jamie and Matt, Robbie and Jared, Jeana and Amanda, Holly, Jodi, Josh, Ashley, Bobby and Katelyn; great grandchildren, Haley, Taylor, Julie, Alyssa, Noah, Sydney, Krista, Mikey, Candice and Marinda; brothers, Pete Sparks, Teter Sparks, Ed Sparks; sisters, Gaynelle Hatcher, Shirley Gasper, Betty Jo Carpenter, Dena Evans, Joyce Webb, Judy Lowe; several nieces and nephews.
