Ruth Virginia Galyon , 82, went to be with Jesus Saturday evening Aug. 29, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ella Baker; brother, Carlos Mayford Baker; very dear friend, Sherman Galyon ; and very special aunt, Gladys Hodge. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and the best Nana in the world. She is sadly missed and survived by daughter and son-in-law, Tammie and Charles Potter; daughter, Lisa Brewer and Jessie Sisson; grandchildren, Daniel Reagan, Naomi Kelsey, Jason Potter, Robbie Adams, David Potter, Nikki Cruze, Tonya Tipton, Frankie Cobb, Jennifer Tipton, Jamie Stevens, April Tipton, Timmy Richardson; great-grandchildren, Alexis Reagan, David Allen Potter, Chaina Cobb, Dakota Stevens, Kirsten Stevens, Trevor Webb, Josh King, Brandon Richardson; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Carol Baker; very dear sisters and brothers-in-law, Gurtrude and Keith Cable, Barbara and W.C. Rucker; son-in-law, Danny Potter; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Shirley Galyon ; and very special aunt, Mildred Walton; and special cousin, Billie Click; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, with Rev. Rex Everett officiating. Family and friends will meet 2 p.m. Wednesday at Old Piney Cemetery for a graveside service.
