Jack L. Smith, age 77, of Blue Springs Parkway, Greeneville, TN, died Thursday morning, December 19, 2002, at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of Bradburn Hill United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Cobble Smith; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and John Roberts, of Knoxville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Joyce Smith and Mike and Peggy Smith, all of Greene County; a granddaughter, Leanne Smith, of Greene County; three grandsons and a special granddaughter-in-law, Chip and Leslie Roberts, of Knoxville, Clay Smith and Tyler Smith, of Greene County; a sister, Frances Rogers, of Winter Park, FL; a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Nancy Smith and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Smith, all of Newport; several cousins, nephews, nieces, and a special aunt, Grace Shelton, of Greeneville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Della Smith and brother, I.J. Smith.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday (12/21/02) at St. Joseph Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Roger Crim, Rev. David Green, and Rev. Rickey Clowers will officiate.
Active pallbearers will be Tim Hawk, Gene Goodman, Freddie Kesterson, Ed Hawhee, Bobby Lane, Teddy Hawk, Buford Jones, and C.D. Hughes.
Honorary pallbearers are Joe Bewley, Buck Williams, Shorty Broyles, Blondie Hankins, Marlin Burkey, Fred James, Donald Dean Crum, Freddie Shaw, Steve Burns, Dan Walker, Mike Davenport, Keith Bible, Bobby Jones, Charlie Winstead, The men of Bradburn Hill U.M. Church, Dr. Charles Montgomery, Mule Price, Terry Beets, Tracy Beets, Thomas Love and Marshall Weems.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Family and friends are asked to meet at Rose Hill Funeral Home at 12:45 p.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.
