Jimmy “Beardy” Guy Smith, 71 of Newport passed away Tuesday August 19,2014.
Jimmy was a veteran of the Vietnam War, an avid hunter and was a member of the Brushy Mountain Bear Hunters Club and the Tennessee Bear Hunters Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Guy Smith and Vivian Ball Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Teresa Smith and sister Dorothy Smith. Additional survivors include his children: Jimmy Smith, Julie (Jason) Braddock, Lisa (Harley) Green, Cindy Lewis, Amanda Hill, and step daughters, Rhonda Malone and Jennifer Griffin. Grandchildren: Adam, Andy, Taylor, Megan, Alex, Maggie, Lexi, Trinity, Parker, Paige, Cameron, Elizabeth, Brandon, and Madison. Great grandchildren, Alec, Eli, and Emma. Lifelong friends, Danny Jenkins, Gordon Sexton, and Donnie Roberts.
Family will receive friends August 23, 2014 in the Brown Funeral Chapel from 5-7pm and funeral service will follow with Rev. Glenn Ball officiating. Interment will be Sunday August 24, 2014 at 11am at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
