(March 26, 1940 - January 3, 2013) Richard Samples, age 72 of Bybee passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013. He was a retired pipe welder. He always enjoyed training horses and mules and working on the farm. He was preceded in death by his parents Tosch and Bernice Fox Samples; brothers Edward, Johnny, Bruce, Joe, Arvel and Alvin Lee Samples. He is survived by his wife Betty Jean Samples of Bybee; son Randy ( Sherrie) Samples of Russellville; daughter Vanessa (Mark) Roberts of California; brothers Bill Samples and Junior Lee Samples; sisters Delcie Mae Hyleman, Loretta Samples and Mary Morie; grandchildren Leigh Ann Samples; David Roberts, Heather (Justin) Shaw; great-grandchildren Grant Roberts, Aliza Shaw and Aaliyah Shaw; several nieces, nephews and a host of other special family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Sunday, January 6, 2013 with George McAmis officiating. Burial will be held at 11 am Monday, January 7, 2013 in the Dandridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday prior to funeral services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Glendale United Methodist Church, c/o Jeanette Sawyer, 3401 Glendale Road, Bybee, TN 37713.
