VOLA IRENE CATE MILLS, of Jefferson City, TN went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2013 at her home after a brief illness. She was a dedicated employee of Oak Hills Apartments for 31 years. She was a member of Friendsview Baptist Church of Jefferson City. Preceded in death by parents, Perry J. and Ida Haynes Cate; daughter, Hazel Diane Derrick; sisters, Molly Snyder, Gertrude Painter, Della Pearl Cate, Fern Cate, Martha Taylor, Anna Belle Chapman; brothers, Perry, Jim, Robert, Cecil and Richard Cate. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Ray and Joanne Fain of Morristown, Mike and Angela Derrick of Dandridge; daughter and son-in-law, Francis and Larry Hall of Del Rio; grandchildren, Linda Shaffer, Colby Brooks, Mack Foster, Debbie Ladd, Stephanie Autrey, Rebecca Kelly, Queenie Bowlin, Desiree Hall; eight great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and JoAnne Cate of Dandridge, Ray and Shirley Cate of Knoxville; sister, Bonnie Monday of Jefferson City; special nieces, Betty Cate and Billie Brooks; several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to give a special thank you to Smoky Mountain Hospice nurses, Gretta and Glenda. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2013 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Sledge officiating. Interment will follow at Cate Cemetery. Family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
