Lennis Ford age 70 of Maryville passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the family home. He was a member, deacon, and treasurer with Faith Baptist Church with over 40 years of faithful service. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, who will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind. Preceded in death by: Parents, Dennis & Edith Ford. Survivors include: Wife of 49 years, Edna Ford; Daughter & Son-in-law, Kay & Kevin Gibson of Maryville; Son, Jason Ford & Barbara Van Gennep of Knoxville; Grandchildren, Gabe Ford, Anna Grace Ford, Samuel Ford, Caleb Gibson, Cole Gibson; 1 Great-Grandson yet to be born; many other family and friends. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at Hospice. Memorial service will be at 8:00 PM, Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. C.M. Titlow officiating. Family and friends will assemble for inurnment at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his honor to your favorite charity. Fords’ 49th
Lennis and Edna (Hunt) Ford, of Maryville, will celebrate their 49th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 29 at the Life Event Center on Smithview Drive. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
The couple were married Dec. 30, 1963, at the parsonage at Logan’s Chapel Church. The Rev. Gerald McFarland officiated.
Their family includes children Kay and Kevin Gibson, of Maryville, and Jason Ford and Barbara Van Gennep, of Knoxville. They have five grandchildren, Gabe Ford, Anna Grace Ford, Sam Ford, Caleb Gibson and Cole Gibson.
Mr. Ford worked at Creswell Office Supply for 34 years and retired from AW Office Supply in 2007. Mrs. Ford retired from MorningView Senior Village in September.
They are long-time members of Faith Baptist Church.
