Mrs. Evelyn Joann Ellison Burgess, age 54, of Newport , passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014, at Newport Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her father Phillip Ellison and niece Tammy Crumbley. Survivors include her children Kevin and Tina, one granddaughter and one grandson, mother Mabel Lee James Ellison of Newport ; sisters Donna Beaver of Newport , Shirley Ellison of Cosby, Linda Beaudette of Wisconsin, Kathy Grooms of Parrottsville, and Amy Ellison of Newport ; brothers Lonnie Ellison of South Carolina; Roy Dan Ellison of Del Rio; Joey Neil Ellison of Del Rio; and David Ellison of Newport . Additional survivors include several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including a very special friend Lori Hemminger. The funeral service was held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2014, in the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Suggs officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a. m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at the Ellison Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. interment. The family received friends from 5:00—7:00 p.m. Monday evening at Costner-Maloy prior to the funeral services.
