Pauline Freeman Leatherwood, age 70, of Hartford, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2005, at Newport Health and Rehabilitation Center while recovering from a stroke.
She attended Newport Prospect Baptist Church.
She was a former clerk for the Cocke County Trustee's Office, having worked there several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Leatherwood; parents, B.R. and Flora Freeman; brother, John Ruben Freeman; three infant brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her special family; daughter and son-in-law, Vida and Hoover Williamson, of Hartford; granddaughter, Carrisa Williamson, of Jefferson City; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Tony Cook, of Hartford; niece, Paula Davis, and great-niece, Preanna Davis, both of Hartford; brothers-in-law, Nease Leatherwood and wife Sue, Elmer Leatherwood and wife Kate, all of Waterville, N.C.; sisters-in-law, Dale Miller, of Cherryville, N.C., and Lucille Bryson, of Fletcher, N.C.; nieces, Kathy Willis, of Vale, N.C.; Gwen Matthews, of Fletcher, N.C.; and Kristi Valentine, of Newport; nephews, Mike Leatherwood, of Cosby, and Davy Leatherwood, of Waterville, N.C.; special classmate and lifetime friend, Lucille (Ball) Self; special friends, Lois Sprouse and Dolly Black; several great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2005, at Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Author Willis, Rev. Ransom Hall, and Rev. Fred Gregg officiating, with burial in Black Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Manes Funeral Home.
