Mr. Andrew Marcus Whitener, 84, 214 Richland St. died Thursday, April 26, 2001, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Clover ARP Church, with the Rev. Rob Patrick officiating. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery. A native of York County, Mr. Whitener was a son of the late Marcus William Whitener and Hattie Gantt Whitener. He was a member of Clover ARP Church. Surviving are five sons, Bobby Whitener of Madison, Tenn., Allen Whitener, Marcus Whitener and David Whitener, all of Clover, and Howard Winders of York; four daughters, Judy McFalls of Gastonia, N.C., Cathy Frye and Patricia Curry, both of Clover, and Barbara Brewer of Maryville, Tenn.; his brother, Ray Whitener of Clover; three sisters, Mary Sisk of Newport, Tenn., Blanche Cobb of Clover and Jean Metlin of Gastonia; 20 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Clover ARP Church, 127 Kings Mountain St., Clover, SC 29710.
