Brother, sister celebrate birthdays
Ola Mae Connatser Self and her brother, Roy Connatser, celebrated their birthdays together at Beech Grove Baptist Church in Louisville recently.
Self was born in Louisville on Nov. 21, 1917, and turned 95 years old. She was married to Sanford Self. Her children include James. John, Betty, Phyllis and Edith.
Connatser was born on Jan. 19, 1920, and is 92 years old. He was born in Louisville and was married to the late Mary Ruth. He has one daughter, Donna, who resides in Louisville. He has one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
He worked at ALCOA Inc.
They also have a 97-year-old brother, Ernest Connatser, but he was unable to attend the celebration.

Ola Mae (Connatser) Self age 95 of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the family home. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church for 70 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, O.W. & Florence Mize Connatser; husband, Sanford Self; loving step-mother, Faye Rhyne Connatser; baby daughter, Joyce Marie Self; sister, Una Faye Connatser; brothers, Alton, Roy & Fred Connatser. Survivors include her daughters & sons-in-law, Betty & Hugh McCall, Phyllis & Marvin Loveday, Edith & David Barry; sons & daughters-in-law, Jim & Martha Self and John & Susan Self; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ernest, Paul, Owen & Lemuel Connatser; sisters, Laura & Ruby Connatser; numerous nieces & nephews. The family wishes to thank Dr. John Cooper, Dr. Jeffrey Johnson and UT Hospice for their excellent care. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:30pm Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2:30 pm with Rev. Kenny Armstrong officiating. The family & friends will assemble directly following the service at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beech Grove Baptist Church or to Beech Grove Church Builders on Missions, 1519 Topside Road, Louisville, TN 37777.
