Veryl Alice King Turner, age 88, of Sevierville, TN went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 23, 2005, at Ft. Sanders Sevier Medical Center in Sevierville.
Veryl was born in Greenbriar in Sevier County, TN on September 14, 1916.
She dedicated her life to the First Baptist Church of Sevierville, where she was a member and taught Sunday School for more than 50 years. Veryl was also active in numerous church organizations.
Veryl was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis M. and Frances M. Whaley King, and her 14 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, James V. Turner; daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara Ann Scott and husband, Jerry; and Mary Frances (Fran) Harmon and husband, Marvin, all of Sevierville, TN. Grandchildren are Brad and Heather Harmon of Savannah, GA; Michael and Rachel Harmon of Nashville, TN; Melissa Harmon, Robin and Chris Meadows of Sevierville, TN; Kathy Standridge of Knoxville, TN; Great Grandchildren, Christopher Thomas and Sarai Standridge.
Special Caregivers: Anne Baker and Robin Meadows. Dedicated friend and honorary daughter, Gail Haggard.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Monday, July 25, 2005, at First Baptist Church of Sevierville with Rev. Randy Davis and Rev. Jerry Hyder officiating.
The family will receive friends 5-7 P.M. Monday, July 25, 2005, at First Baptist Church of Sevierville.
Interment will be at 10: 00 A.M. Tuesday, July 26, 2005, in Shiloh Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, grandson-in-law and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the C.A.B. Sunday School Class.
Memorial donations may be made to The Building Fund of First Baptist Church of Sevierville.
