CAMPBELL , BERNIE L. - age 78, of Sevierville, succumbed to emphysema on Tuesday, March 7, 2000. He had been a resident of Sevier County since 1968. Mr. Campbell was associated with Lay's on Bruce Street and retired from the company in 1983. He was a member of Alder Branch Baptist Church and a US Army veteran, having served in the South Pacific in World War II. He leaves wife of 51 years, Betty Campbell ; sons and daughters-in-law, Wesley Campbell , Jim Campbell , Robert and Lori Campbell ; grandsons, Michael, Doug, Brett, John, Jimmy, & Jeremy; great grandchildren, Miky and Justin; beloved family friend, Jean Tarpley of Birmingham, Ala. Family and friends will meet 11 a.m. Thursday at Alder Branch Cemetery for graveside service and interment. Rev. Dallas Gibson officiating.
