He was a member of Friendsville Friends Meeting, an avid fisherman, member of ALCOA's 25-Year Club, and Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Preceded in death by parents, Carra S. Bivens and Hettie Young Bivens brother, Edward, and sister, Maverette Crowder. Survivors include wife, Doris G. Bivens daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Wesley Weaver of Friendsville sons, Boyd Alan (Dickie) Bivens of Friendsville, and Bradley Bivens and wife, Michelle of Hendersonville, Tenn. grandchildren, Ashley Weaver, Tyler and Jordan Bivens , and brother, Elden Bivens of Friendsville. Funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2003, in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Pastor Tim Carter officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Friendsville Friends Cemetery.
