FAULKNER , MABEL Z. - age 85, of South Knoxville, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2003, at the home of her daughter, Janice Gibbs, following a brief illness. Mrs. Faulkner was a member of South Knoxville Church of Christ. She was a loving and wonderful person to everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse J. Faulkner parents, George and Burness Taylor a daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Raymond Carringer a grandchild, Laura Faulkner a daughter-in-law, Betty Faulkner sisters, Leona Huff, Vulah Gammon, and infant, Nanny Taylor brothers, Delmar, Orville, Robert, and Sherrill Taylor as well as two infant brothers. Survivors include three daughters, Erma Rodgers and husband, Leland, Janice Gibbs and husband, Harold, and Paulette Field four sons, Coy Faulkner and wife, Betty, Lynn and Tom Faulkner , and Darrell Faulkner and wife, Libby 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren a sister, Irene O'dell two brothers, Carlos Taylor and Newell Taylor and wife, Betty, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at the South Knoxville Church of Christ with a funeral service to follow at the church at 7:30 p.m. with Leland Rodgers, Jeff Mabe, and Tom Miller officiating. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2003, in the Highland South Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, and honorary pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of the South Knoxville Church of Christ. Highland South Memorial Park, Funerals, and Cremations, Chapman Hwy., is in charge of arrangements, 573-7300.
