Mildred Shelton, 71, of Newport, passed away Tuesday at the Baptist Hospital of Cocke County following a lengthy illness.
She was a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Shelton; sons, Jerry, James and Roger Shelton; and parents, George and Zoney Webster.
She is survived by her daughters, Doris Willis and her husband, Paul, of Del Rio, Sue Samples and her husband, James (Whistle) of Newport, Judy Pierce and her husband, Orville of Del Rio, Betty Ricker and her husband, Billy of Hot Springs, North Carolina, and Mary Shelton of Del Rio, and future son-in-law, Keith Rowbathan; sons, Donald Shelton, Harold Shelton Jr. and Mark Shelton, all of Del Rio; sisters, Bessie Mae Stallings and Minnie Ruth Stallings, both of Gibsonville, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Murr officiating. Interment will be at Clark Cemetery in Del Rio. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Brown Funeral Home.
