U.S. Veteran Tipton, Norman Harlow “Tip” age 68 of Maryville walked through the gates of heaven to be with his Lord and Savior December 3, 2008 at home with his devoted family by his side. He was a very loving husband, father, papaw, brother and friend. He will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to have known him. Norman was a veteran of the United States Navy and employed by Ford Motor Company as a service manager for 31 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben Harlow and Edna Word Tipton; infant brother, Sammy; sister, Wanda Sue Smith; mother in law, Nellie Latham Coxwell; sister in law, Barbara Ellen Tipton and special family members Delmar and Thelma Word. Norman is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Tressa Gail Tipton; daughter and son in law, Karen and Rick Oneal of Maryville; step daughter and son in law, Sarah Beth and Adam Whitehead; stepson, Billy Joe Vanderburg; stepson, Rodney and wife Melissa Sizemore all of Maryville; granddaughter and husband, Dixie and Calvin Wilburn of Friendsville; step grandchildren, Autumn and Dalton Vanderburg, Isaac and Abbagail Whitehead all of Maryville; one great granddaughter, Dixianna Wilburn of Friendsville; brother and sister in law, Fred and Pat Tipton; brother, Edward Tipton all of Maryville; father in law, Chester Lee Latham of Maryville; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Roy Coxwell of Georgia; Tony and Janice Maynard of Maryville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Miller Funeral Home. Funeral service 8:00 PM Friday, December 5, 2008 at Miller Funeral Home Rev. Charles Bailey officiating. Interment service 2:00 PM Saturday at Carpenters Campground Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday at Miller Funeral Home.www.millerfuenralhome.org
