SHIELDS , ROBERT W. "BOB", - age 88, of 529 Alabama Street, Bristol, Tenn. died on May 18, 2000 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Amber and Fannie Lister Shields . He was the owner of Shields Electronic Supply - Bristol, Knoxville, Chattanooga, and was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a 1930 graduate of Berry High School. Survivors include: wife of 59 years, Ida May Statzer Shields ; daughter, Elaine Holmes of Forest, Va.; sons, R. Wade Shields of Knoxville, Tenn., Perry J. Shields of Bristol, Tenn.; son-in-law, Harrison Holmes; daughters-in-law, Rhonda Shields and Bonnie Marie Shields ; 5 grandsons, Donald and Timothy Holmes, R. David and Jason W. Shields , and Robert Franklin Shields ; 3 great granddaughters; 1 step great granddaughter; 1 step great great grandson; niece; and nephew. Preceded in death by a daughter, E. Amelia Shields ; a brother, Jake Shields ; sister, Catherine Shields ; and a granddaughter, April Dawn Shields . Funeralservices will be conducted on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church 322 Vance Drive, Bristol, Tenn. 37620, with the Rev. John Farmer officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Bob Wagner and the 5 grandsons. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:30-2:30 prior to the service at the church. Those desiring may make memorials to First United Methodist Church. Weaver Funeral Home is in charge.
