Beloved mother and grandmother went to be with her Heavenly Father on April 5, 2013. Patricia Ann Wise age 76 of Newport passed away Friday at the Tennova St. Mary’s hospital in Knoxville after a short illness. Pat was a devout Christian and a member of the First Christian Church in Newport. She was devoted to her family and was retired from the Ace Products Company. She loved spending time with her family, working in her garden and sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil “Lightening” Wise, her parents Rufus and Gracie Mae Andrews Thornton. Brothers; Elbert Thornton, Rufus Melvin “Joe” Thornton Jr. Sisters; Margret Knight, Edna Jean Hall and Maudella Johnson. She is survived by her children; sons William “Billy” Wise (Judy) of Newport and Timothy “Termite” Wise (Sandy) of Newport. Sisters; Betty Day of Melbourne Florida and Wanda Denny of Oak Ridge Tennessee. Her grandchildren include grandson Cory Wise of Newport and granddaughter Kortnee Wise of Newport. Great grandchildren; Chloe, Coven and Cameron Wise. There are many nieces, nephews and cousins that will be left to miss her. A special friend and niece in Sue Knight and special friends David, Pat, Robert and Brenda. A private graveside service will be held and will be announced later.
