Cecil (Lightning) Wise , 70, of Newport, went to be with the Lord Monday, April 5, 2004, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City. He was a mechanic for 30 years at Stokely before his retirement. His parents, Rufus and Mary (Marlow) Wise ; brothers, Avery, Andrew, Robert, Dallas, and Edward Wise ; sisters, Mag Wyatt, Ada Baker, and Lou Suggs, preceded him in death. Cecil is survived by his wife of 49 years, Pat (Thornton) Wise , of Newport; sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Judy Wise , of Newport, and Tim and Sandy Wise , of Cosby; brother and sister-in-law, Homer and Darlene Wise , of Bybee; and grandchildren, Corey Wise , of Newport, and Kortnee Wise , of Cosby. Mr. Wise will also be missed by several nieces and nephews and a host of special friends. Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at 8:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Hardison officiating. Graveside service will be Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, April 6, 2004, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. prior to the service.
