Preceded in death by parents, William Harvey and Mary McMillan Bales ; son, Floyd Alvin Bales , Jr. Survivors: wife, Mary Rasar Bales , formerly of Riverdale Community, TN ; daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Steve Parker of Maryville, TN ; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Terry Hill of Knoxville, TN ; grandchildren, Stephanie Pierce and husband Alan of Maryville, Jennifer Hill of Nashville, Cindy Buttry and husband Steven of Knoxville, Ellie Fulmer of Knoxville, Jackie Cody and husband Todd of Knoxville, Kimberly Mackey and husband James of Maryville; Emily Hill of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Taylor Parker, Nick Pierce, C. A funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday in Stevens Chapel. Rev. Greg Long and Rev. Mike Vincent officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Friday at Lynnhurst Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service and interment. Pallbearers: C.J. Pierce, Allen Breeden, Ed Nail, Leonard Webster, Mike Robinson, and Robert Galyon. Full military honors by East Tennessee State Veterans Honor Guard.
