Leola Faye Cook Gilliland , 92 , of Wyoming County , WV , passed away Friday , February 21 , 2014.
Born December 11, 1921, in Turkey Creek, WV , she was the daughter of the late Walter Raleigh Cook and Minnie Edna Cook.
Faye was a 1940 graduate of Pineville High School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years William O. "Bill" Gilliland ; four brothers, Otto, Lacy, Dale and Sydney Cook , and a sister, Merlie Irene Stewart.
Survivors include her son, William Terry Gilliland ; A daughter, Regina Honaker and her husband, Gray; Grandchildren, Gray William Honaker and his partner, Katherine, Thomas Jason Honaker and his wife, Laura; Great-grandchildren, Henry Gray Honaker, Thomas Owen Honaker and Lucy Gray Honaker; Stepgrandchildren, Willow-mina Jozette Mikels and Jonathan Mikels; Brother-in-law, Gene Gilliland ; Two special nieces, Wilma Jean Cook and Iris Stewart King. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family honored her request to be cremated.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014 , in the Calfee Funeral Service Chapel, Pineville, with the Rev. Evan Arkell officiating.
Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.
The family requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to a church or Christian charity of your choice.
