RAMSEY , CHARLIE (DAN) - age 81, of Knoxville, formerly of Blaine, passed away on Sunday November 28, 1999 at Jefferson City Health and Rehabilitation Center after a lingering illness. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in WWII and was retired from Hutting Sash and Door of Knoxville. He was preceded in death by wife, Bertha Western Ramsey ; stepson, Johnny Maddox; parents, Anderson and Mintha Ramsey ; sister, Delilah McCarter; brothers, Robert, Lavator, Bud, William (Tom), Beecher, and Eugene Ramsey . Survivors: sister, Bonnie Warwick of Blaine; stepchildren, Billie and husband Jimmy Ledford of Knoxville, Ronnie Western and Sharon Miller; several nieces and nephews. A "Special Thanks" to the employees of Jefferson City Health and Rehabilitation Center and Hospice. Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Rutledge, where they will then proceed to Indian Ridge Cemetery for a 3 p.m. military graveside service, Rev. Ancil Garrett officiating on Tuesday November 30, 1999. The nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Monday evening, November 29, 5:30-7:30 at Smith Funeral Home in Rutledge. Smith Funeral Home of Rutledge in charge of arrangements.
