BAKER , ALYCE RALSTON of Knoxville and Middlesboro, KY, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Parkwest Medical Center. She was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late Emma and Craig Ralston. Alyce was a member of Fountain City Presbyterian Church, the Delta Delta Delta Sorority (Tri Delta), a longtime member of Holston Hills Country Club, the Skyland Garden Club and the Garden Guild where she judged many flower shows all over East Tennessee. Alyce was a longtime supporter and a past president of Racheff Gardens. She was an avid bridge player through out her life. Alyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Matt Baker ; and brothers, Henry Ralston and Craig Ralston Jr. Alyce is survived by her sons and daughter in law, Matt and Susan Baker and Wesley Baker ; grandchildren, Ralston Baker of Ft. Collins, CO, Davis Baker of CA and Justin Bird of Knoxville; brothers in law, Chaddy (Mary) Baker and James (Joanne) Baker ; sisters in law, Carol Ann (Lynn) Francisco and Linda Gillespie; several nieces, nephews; and special friends, Louise Smith, Wynn Curtis, Dot Beeler, Martha Gorley and her many friends in the garden club and her bridge players. Family and friends will meet at the main entrance to Highland Memorial Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m. Friday graveside service with the Rev. C. Allen Cooke officiating.
