Edna Lacreeda Allman Hunt, age 87, of Greenback, Tenn., and West Palm Beach, Fla., entered into the Glory of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, Sept. 6, in the year of our Lord 2012 in Florida. She began the true Christian life at the age of 13 and was a member of Niles Ferry Baptist Church in Greenback, where she taught a ladies’ Sunday school class. She had lived in South Florida with her daughter and son-in-law for much of the previous 12 years and had attended Beacon Baptist Church in Jupiter, Fla., as her health permitted. The daughter of the late Virgil L. and Ressie Allman of Monroe County, she married the late Lloyd Hunt, her beloved high school sweetheart, at the age of 16. They remained happily married until his unexpected death in 1976. She retired as a state of Tennessee employee at the Knox County Health Department in Knoxville, and had supported WWII war efforts as a uranium processor at the Y12 plant in Oak Ridge. Survivors, daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Kevin Duncan; nieces, Jean Hicks, Nora Brown, Sibyl Landers, Phillis Bruce and Linda Burchfield; nephews, Glenn Isbell, Leo Smith, Joe Smith and Ricky Smith; sisters-in-law, Ellen Harrison and Lucile Linton; long-time friends, Dawsie Clowers, Inzia Provenzia, Dude Johnson, Bill Nelson, Norm and Tom Peeler, and Lee and Mary Sue McDonald. She was preceded in death by her sisters Shirley Cook, Vera Allman, Blana Isbell and Zelva Smith. Funeral 2 p.m. Sunday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. R.M. Everett officiating. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery. Family will receive friends 12:30-2 p.m. Sunday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
