Resided in Sevierville, TN
Loretta W. Maples, age 79 of Gatlinburg, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 27, 2016. Loretta was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. A lifetime resident of Gatlinburg, she was the manager for Alan Stalcup Industries., including the Gatlinburg Ski Lodge Gift Shops and the Pioneer Trading Post for 33 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack B. Maples Sr., parents, Harold P. Sr. and Thelma Whaley, sister, Janice Whaley, and brother, Billy Whaley.
She is survived by:
Sons and Daughters-in-law: William and Claudia Maples, David and Mary Anne Maples, and Jack Jr. and Lori Maples;
Daughter and Son-in-law: Susan and Mitch Ayers;
Grandchildren: Sarah Ayers Brickey, Tommy Ayers, Chad Ayers, Kelly Maples Kostic, David Maples, Baylee and Haley Maples;
Great Grandchildren: Johnny Ayers, Jack Brickey, Gavin McKamey, and Charley Ann Tyson;
Brothers: Paul Whaley, Joe Whaley, Steve Whaley and Jeff Whaley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sevier County Food Ministry, P.O. Box 6042, Sevierville, TN 37864 or the Winfield Baptist Church Children's Fund c/o Appalachian Relief Fund, 312 Kelly Hills Drive, Sevierville, TN 37876.
The family will receive friends 1-3 PM Monday at Atchley's Smoky Mountain Chapel in Pigeon Forge with service to follow at 3 PM. Rev. Mitch Ayers officiating.
