Celia “Kate” Cole, age 87, born September 9th, 1921 in Sevier County, Tennessee, stepped into the arms of Jesus Sunday, August 16, 2009. She was a member of Henderson Chapel Church and resided in Sevier County. She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great Grandmother. She touched many lives with her compassion, generosity, love and devotion. She and her late husband, Ray R. Cole built and operated River Breeze Motel in Pigeon Forge for many years before retiring. She was preceded in death by: husband Ray R. Cole; daughter Connie Sue Cole; son Bobby Lynn Cole; mother Mary E. Maples; father James Lawson Maples, grandsons: Tony Reagan, Jon R. Cole; sisters: Myrtle Conner, Valarie Maples, Maude Millard, Delle Mahnke, Jean Baker; brothers: Russell Maples, Clyde Maples, and Fred Maples.
Kate had 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Daughters and sons-in-law: Betty Jo and Jim R. Reagan, Patricia B. Reed, Mary Lou and Larry LaFollette, and Nancy and Denny Clabo.

Funeral service 6 PM Monday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Cole, Rev. Jon Sims, and Rev. Bill Maples officiating. Interment 10 AM Tuesday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be: Jim Cole, Gary Reed, Rob Reed, Dennis Clabo, Jr., Eddie McCandless, Dennis Hurst, Marc Cook, Shane Eubanks, and David Fuson.
