Howard Velma Joyce Sparks, born May 13, 1933, passed away, Friday, August 24, 2012, at the family home. She was retired from Asbury Place of Maryville where she worked for 23 years. Preceded in death by parents, France and Josie Gregory Sparks; sisters, Sue Sparks, Bonnie Sparks Williams, and Edna Sparks Teffeteller; and brothers, Bill, Bob, and Roy Sparks. Survived by husband, Troy McCall Howard; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Sharon Howard of Maryville and Rick and Pamela Howard of Oliver Springs; grandchildren and spouses, Jason and Crystal Howard of Fayetteville, NC, Chris and Tawania Howard of Maryville, Laken and Jake Stubbs of Clinton, and Cindel Howard of Oliver Springs; great-grandchildren, Jason, Dustin, and Nathan Howard of Maryville, Jaxson and Colby Howard of North Carolina, and Adrian, Ava, Aubrrey, and Arwin Stubbs all of Clinton; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Nancy Sparks of Maryville; sister, Dorathy Crabtree of Louisville; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Ray Watson of Maryville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jean and Don Tipton of South Carolina; sister-in-law, Bobbie Howard of Nashville; and many nieces, nephews, church family, and friends she held dear to her heart. Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, August 27, 2012, at Turner Street Baptist Church, Rev. Tim Townsend officiating. The interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
