Banks, age 57, went to be with Jesus Monday, July 30, 2007, after a long battle with lung cancer at his home with his family and friends by his side. He was a veteran of Vietnam and a member of Allen's Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeremiah Heath Banks; daddy, R.C. Banks; and step dads, Bartley Gates and Clifford "Tom" Lane. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Norma Sue Ford Banks, and loving daughter, Sheena Lace Banks; daughter-in-law, Heather Williams; mother, Ellen B. Lane; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and wife Michelle Lane; grandchildren, MacKenzie Love Ball and Kanan Jayce Wise, of Newport; mother and father-in-law, Elizabeth and Earl Raines; brothers-in-law, Kenneth and Millie Ford, of Newport, and Jeffery Ford, of S.C.; sister-in-law, Angela Ford; nephews, Luke and Matt Lane; nieces, Bailey Lane, Brandy and Kendra Ford, of Cosby; Dana Norris, of S.C.; great niece and nephew, Braylee Ford and Jordan Norris; special friend, Van Ford. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Leon "Teaberry" Large officiating.
