NEW JERSEY-Creola Ford, 78, of Hopewell Township, New Jersey, died Wednesday in South Jersey Hospital System-Bridgeton, NJ.
Mrs. Ford was born in Hartford, Tennessee, and was the daughter of the late Ben Lewis Ford and Lydia Jane Henderson Ford. The wife of the late Bob T. Ford, she had lived in Hopewell Township, NJ, for 49 years. Prior to that, she had lived in Seabrook, NJ, and Tennessee.
Before her retirement in 1979, she had formerly been employed with Hopewell Crest School, Owens-Illinois Glass Co., and Seabrook Farms Co.
She was a member of the First Wesleyan Church of Bridgeton, NJ; served as a community volunteer at Bridgeton Hospital for several years; and loved crafts, gardening, and her family.
She was the beloved mother of Dana W. Ford, of Alloway, NJ; Donna L. Thompson and her husband, Ron, of Stow Creek Township, NJ; Linda S. Krupa, of Fairton, NJ; Peggy E. Ferguson and her husband, Dale, of Stow Creek Township, NJ; and the late Bobby J. Ford.
Also surviving are two brothers, Jim Ford and Mack Ford, both of Upper Deerfield Township, NJ; one sister, Laura Williams, Rockville, MD; seventeen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Dolph Ford, Dave Ford, Lewis Ford, and Rufus Ford; six sisters, Lettie Ford, Fannie Raines, Martha Price, Carrie Raines, Mary Ford, and Pauline Mills; one grandson, Douglas C. Ford; and one great-grandson, Zackery T. Krupa.
Rev. Dwight Mikesell and Rev. Randall Brown will conduct funeral services at the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, NJ, on Saturday morning at 11 o’clock.
Burial will be in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell Township, NJ. Friends will be received Saturday morning one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
