Frances Tener Benton, age 94 of Maryville, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Asbury Place in Maryville. She was a strong woman of faith and a member of Friendsville Friends Meeting. Preceded in death by her husband, Calvin T. “Dugy” Benton; brother, Horace H. “Buster” Tener; her parents, Herman G. and Gay H. Tener.
Frances was a Registered Nurse having graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Knoxville. She was a long time Tennessee Vol Sports Fan and an avid follower of the Tennessee Lady Vol Basketball Program.
Survived by her niece and husband, Myrna and Ed Bush of Bristol, TN; nephew and wife, Garry and Becky Tener of Louisville, TN; great nieces, Sarah and Rachel Bush; great nephews, Mark Bush, Joshua and Jeremiah Tener; great-great niece, Kennedy Bush.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Asbury Place for the many years of compassionate care provided for Frances at the Assisted Living facility and at the Health Center.
Family and friends will meet at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel for the funeral service with Rev. Kenny Armstrong officiating. Friends may call at their convenience at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Friendsville Friends Meeting.
