PAYNE, Laura Mae, age 72 of Maryville, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, November 11, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was retired from Blount Memorial Hospital after 24 years of service. Mrs. Payne was a member of Morganton Acres Church of God. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother and friend and was loved by so many. She will be greatly missed by everyone who ever knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace W. Payne; parents, Sam and Stella Keller; brother, Wade, Hobart, and Fred Keller; sister, Lizzie Whitehead.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Larry (L.D.) And Linda Payne of Alcoa, Roger and Donna Payne of Greenback, Mark and Shirley Payne of Maryville; daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Connard Webb of Townsend, Cindy and Larry Payne, Karen and Marvin Sizemore of Maryville; 11 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Gertie Keller, Betty Tulloch and husband Jack of Maryville, Mary Cobb and husband Gary of South Carolina; brothers-in-law, Earl True and wife Berna Lee of Maryville, Roy Pratt of South Carolina; several special nieces and nephews; many very special friends to include Lisa and Mark Davidson, Ron and Alice Day, Charles and Dorthy Osborne.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7-8:00 p.m. at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Ron Day and Rev. Charles Osborne officiating. The interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Old Kagley Cemetery.
