Doris Leona (Brahm) Friedman, 87, formerly of Dubuque, mother of Carol S. Moharreri (Hamid), of Palm Harber, Fla., and the late Dale G. Friedman (Colleen), died peacefully Saturday, June 15, 2013, in a nursing home near her son's family in Wichita, Kan. Catholic graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 21, in Holy Cross (Iowa) Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at Hoffman Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., Dubuque. Doris was born on Feb. 12, 1926, one of seven children of Daisey Roe and Earle Brahm, of N. Buena Vista, Iowa. She married Merlin J. Friedman of Holy Cross, on Oct. 22, 1946. Surviving are a daughter, Carol; seven grandchildren, Jamal and Jalal Moharreri, Greg Friedman (Melissa), of Keller, Texas, Julie and Elizabeth Friedman, of Wichita, Stephen Friedman, of Roeland Park, Kan., and Mark (Rhiannon) Friedman, of Overland Park, Kan.; three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Alex, and baby Kinley, children of Greg and Melissa; a daughter-in-law, Colleen (O'Rourke) Friedman; and dear older sister, Irhene (Al) Klein, of Balltown, Iowa.
