Rickey Dean Russell, age 43, went to be with the Lord July 11, 2003, at UT Hospital in Knoxville. He was a respected Jail Administrator with the Cocke County Sheriff’s Department for 12 years. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Scott Russell; grandparents, Garfield and Eula Ramsey and Steven and Eula Russell; one niece, Racheal Russell; and one nephew, Timothy Russell. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Russell; stepchildren, Chelsea and Jordan Lane; mother and father, Barbara and Hugh Russell; brothers, Hugh William Russell, Jr., and wife, Zee, of Dillsboro, N.C., Calvin Russell and wife, Ruth Ann, of Alger, Ohio; nieces and a nephew, Christa Brooks, of Whittier, N.C., Erin Brooks, of Sylva, N.C., Rebecca Russell, of Dillsboro, N.C., Heather Russell, of Newport, and Stephanie and Christopher Russell, of Newport. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2003, at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Williamson, Dr. Rich Lloyd, and Dr. Charles Wender officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends after 1 p.m. Sunday at the Manes Funeral Home. Manes Funeral Home is in charge. [S58] Marriage Certificate.
