Died: May 7, 2009 Oma Camilla Bowers , 85, of Unaka Street, Greeneville, died Thursday morning at the Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness. Mrs. Bowers attended Calvary Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She was born Feb. 1, 1924, in Greene County, and was a daughter of the late Robert and Maude Murr Hurd. She was the widow of Allen E. Bowers , who died June 2, 1994. Survivors include five sons and two daughters-in-law: Dennis Bowers of the home, Terry Bowers of Yuma, Va., Michael and Judy Bowers of Newport, Robert Bowers of Winston-Salem, N.C., and John Bowers of Greeneville; four daughters: Patricia Holt of Winston-Salem, Darlene and Johnny Kiser of Greeneville, Judy and Bob Haas of Winston-Salem, and Linda and Homer Spaugh of Greeneville; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Univa Foulks and Pearl Dishner, both of Greeneville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son: Randy Bowers ; and three brothers: Bruce Hurd, John R. Hurd, and Charles Hurd. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Wayland Fillers will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her son and grandsons: Dennis Bowers , Terry Bowers , Michael Bowers , Robert Bowers , and John Bowers , and Jack Price.
