(Chuck) age 51 of Knoxville passed away Friday, June 22, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by son, Robert (Robbie) Sparks; grandparents, Otis and Anna Lee Bowers and Nora and Nathan Sparks. Chuck grew up in Maryville and played football at Maryville College. He was an avid sportsman and accomplished musician. He was a member of New Hopewell Baptist Church in Maryville and attended Riverview Baptist Church in Knoxville. Survivors: wife, Phyllis Dykes McNutt Sparks; parents, Charles and Joyce Sparks; son and daughter in law, Nathan and Miranda Sparks; daughters, Autumn Sparks and Amanda Dykes Bailey; grandchildren, Ella, Lila, Lawson, Nicholas and Spencer; sisters; Leigh Ann O’Hara and husband Mike, Nycki Sparks; brother, Rick Sparks and wife Ramona; mother in law, Margaret Dykes; sisters in law, Dorothy Vest and husband Donnie, Nancy Taylor and husband Jackie; special aunts, Carol Traxler (Jerry), Maxine McCarter (Randall); uncles, Rufus Bowers (Polly), Joe Bowers (Lorene); several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
