  [S142] Newspaper Article, The Mountain Press, 4 Feb 2000. Minnie Guffey King of Seymour died Wednesday, February 2, 2000. She was a member and nursery worker at Valley Grove Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She was preceded in death by sons Rowe King and Keith King. She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Inman; daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Gerald Gibson, Faye and Dwight Whaley, Jimmie and David Norton; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Pauline King; daughter-in-law, Katherine King; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Valley Grove Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at 8 p.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Ted Witchen officiating. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Valley Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Valley Grove Christian Life Center. Arrangements by Highland South Funeral Home.
