Dallas C. "D.C." Payne, age 83, of Maryville, passed away peacefully at his family home on Friday, May 10, 2013. He was a longtime active member of Forest Hill Baptist Church who enjoyed helping in any way especially as the Sunday School Bus driver. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and picnics. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, great and grand-father, brother, and a true friend who will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Payne; parents, Sam and Dean Payne; and brothers, Sam and Denver Payne; He is survived by his Sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Evelyn Payne, Billy and Sandy Payne, and Randall Payne, all of Maryville, Wes and Gina Payne of Kodak, and Danny and Crystal Payne of Maryville; Daughters and son-in-law, Teresa Daugherty and Tamyra and David Loveday, all of Knoxville; 16 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren; Brother, Dale Payne of Maryville; Sisters and brothers-in-law, Leola Sparks of Maryville, Birdale and Earnest Yates of Seymour; and Betty and Sam Suputo of Michigan; Many nieces, nephews, family, and church family also survive. A celebration of D.C.'s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2013 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Gary Thomas officiating. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013 in Grandview Cemetery with Rev. Wes Rankin officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Forest Hill Church building fund. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, 983-1000, www.SmithMaryville.com
