Morris Eldon “Jerry” Dockery passed away peacefully on October 26, 2015, at home and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a member of Rocky Branch Missionary Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He loved the Lord dearly and family and friends. He had a very pleasant sense of humor. He was also retired from Overnite Transportation as a truck driver for over 33 years. Preceded in death by father, Rollen Dockery; mother, Nettie Brown Dockery; first wife, Mary Hill Dockery; son, Mark Dockery; brothers, Mack, R.L., G.M. Junior and Robert “Bobby” and Charles Dockery; sisters, Betty and Beecher Dockery, Lucille McMahan. Survived by his wife Evelyn Cowden Dockery; daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Bill Brewer of Maryville; grandchildren, Amber Brewer of Richmond, KY, Cyndi Brewer of Maryville; step-grandchildren, Michael Brewer, Kristi Ellis of Maryville; step great-grandchildren, Matthew and Nathan Ellis, Olivia and Gabe Turrubiartes of Maryville; sisters L.V. Dockery Evans of Maryville, Violet Dockery Jennings of Clinton; Brother, Paul Ernest (Reba) Dockery of Hayesville, NC; sister-in-law, Bessie Dockery of Murphy, NC, Mary Cook, Judy Dockery of Maryville and several nieces and nephews. Special Caregivers wife Evelyn Dockery and niece Sue Crump, of Lenoir, NC. Thanks to Rocky Branch Missionary Baptist Church for the continued prayers and support during this time of need. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Funeral service 7:00 PM Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Miller Funeral Home, Rev. Tom Waring and Rev. Bruce Crump officiating. Graveside and interment will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday at Forest Hill Cemetery.
