March 21, 1936 ~ April 29, 2014
Fremon Stoner, our dear father, uncle, grandfather and friend, went to be with the Lord on April 29, 2014. Fremon was born in Farmville, VA, on March 21, 1936, to A.J. and Bessie (Bohanan) Stoner. In 1956, Fremon met the love of his life, Beulah Huskey and that same year, they married and moved to Washington State, where they made their home in Peshastin. Fremon worked in the woods as a tree faller, logging. In those same woods, he enjoyed hunting cougars and bears with his son and dogs, especially his favorite dog, Lead and as of the last few years when he couldn’t hike after the dogs, he enjoyed fishing.
Fremon is survived by his children, Bill (Connie) Stoner of Dryden, WA, Karen (Greg) Davis of East Wenatchee, WA, Linda Ferguson of Peshastin, WA and Jean (Ross) Stoner of Monitor, WA; brother, Earnest Stoner of Tennessee; grandchildren, Erin (Jeff) Porter of Montana, Chalane (Jeremiah) Murphy of East Wenatchee, WA, Anthony (Brandy) Stoner of Moses Lake, WA, and Cory Westlund of Monitor, WA; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Chloe, Kelsiy, Kayli, Triston, Kendra, and Hailey Stoner, Raina, Violet and Kaden Porter, Seth Ramsey, Dante, Sunshine and Lily Weigel. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.J. and Bessie Stoner; brothers and sisters, Dell Paine, Belle Whaley Trentham Mays, Bill Whaley, Millard Whaley and Veda Taylor.
A Celebration of Fremon’s Life has taken place at Ward’s Funeral Chapel on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Ward’s Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth. The service concluded at the graveside in the Peshastin Cemetery. Ward’s Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth, is in charge of the arrangements.
