Robert “Tip” Tipton Bohanan, age 80 of Seymour, went home to be with the Lord Thursday August 19, 2004. He was born May 10, 1924 in the Greenbriar area of Sevier County. He was a deacon of Bell’s Chapel Baptist Church, and was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved the Lord, his family, and his many friends and neighbors. He also loved working with horses and farming.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev Russell and Lottie Ogle Bohanan, brothers, Roy Bohanan, Jack and Earl King.
He is survived by his
Loving wife of 58 years: Dorothy Lindsey Bohanan
Daughters: Diane Weeks and husband Bobby and Francis Bohanan
Grandchildren: Travis Weeks and wife Tracy, Nichole Bohanan
Great Granddaughter: Lauren Weeks
Sisters: Hettie Boling, Cora Burden, Lela Helton and husband Lloyd, Grace Whaley, Lillard England and husband Claiborne, Edna England and husband Paul
Brothers: WC Bohanan and wife Barbara, Milo Bohanan and wife Ann

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ken Mays and staff, Dr. Frye and the ICU staff at Fort Sanders-Sevier Medical Center for their caring and compassion during this difficult time and to all who sent up prayers in our behalf.
Funeral service 7 PM Saturday in the Seymour Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Weeks, Rev. Ben Knight, Rev. Al Smith, and Rev. Troy Cody officiating.
