Hettie Leola Bohanan Boling, age 90, surrounded with love from her family, went home to be with her Heavenly Father, September 7, 2012.
Hettie was born December 7, 1921 to Russell and Lottie Bohanan in Greenbrier of the Great Smoky Mountains. When the government bought the mountains in 1929 for a National Park, Hettie’s family had to leave their home. They packed all they could in a wagon and left their beloved home in the mountains. The family settled in the Boyd’s Creek Community in Sevierville, TN. Through out her life, Hettie enjoyed hiking back to her home place and sharing her love for the mountains with her family.
Hettie married Earl Boling and moved to Knoxville, TN where they were blessed with three children. Hettie was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother. She taught her children by loving examples. She told her family about Jesus and His love. We were to be kind, to love one another, and be compassionate.
Hettie worked at Levi Strauss for many years. Later she worked for Walmart.
