Pierces’ 50th
Larry and JoAnn (Cowden) Pierce, of Maryville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
They request no gifts.
The couple were married May 18, 1962, at the home of Mr. Pierce’s parents. The Rev. John McGregor officiated.
Their family includes children Alan and Stephanie Pierce, of Maryville, and Jeff and Lori Ann Edwards, of Johnson City. They have six grandchildren.
Mr. Pierce retired from Delta Airlines after 26 years and retired from Blount County Schools after 10 years. Mrs. Pierce is a graduate of East Tennessee Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse and was employed at Blount Memorial Hospital for 38 years.
They are active members of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, KIT (Keep in Touch) Club and Happy Helpers Sunday School class. They enjoy gardening and traveling.
