Gorss, Robert Leeobit 6/7/1943 "Herald-Argus" newspaper LaPorte, Indiana - ROBERT LEE GROSS - Robert Lee Gross, 30, of 1002 Indiana avenue, died last night at 5:30 o'clock at the Holy Family hospital following an illness of one month. He was born in LaPorte on April 14, 1913, the son of Mr and Mrs Benjamin Gross, and had lived here all his life. He was employed as inspector at the Kingsbury Ordinance plant. On Nov 20, 1942, he was married in LaPorte to Beatrice Bratich. He was a member of the Elks lodge. He graduated from LaPorte High School in 1930. He is survived by his wife and two sisters, Mrs Marie Held, LaPorte, and Mrs Elizabeth White, Gary, a grandmother, Mrs Sarah C. Collins, Three Rivers, Mich, two nieces, Mrs Bargara Johnson, Valparaiso, and Mrs Shirley Tufteland, LaPorte, two nephews, Richard Held, U.S. navy, and Thomas E. Held, U.S. army. One brother, Earl, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Friday afteernoon at 3:30 at Cutler Brothers chapel with the Rev. Clyde H. Lininger officiating. Burial will be in Pine Lake cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel Thursday afternoon and evening.
