Steven Edwin McMahan , age 58, a resident of Oak Ridge, and formerly of Maryville, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2008, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Maryville. Following his graduation from Maryville High School, he entered the U.S. Navy where he served his country during the Vietnam War. Mr. McMahan is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Rita Nation McMahan of Oak Ridge; parents, Clarence and Katherine McMahan ; and brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Kay McMahan , all of Maryville; sister-in-law, Loeta Wilder of Oak Ridge; nephews Donnie, Davey, David and wife, Michelle McMahan , of Cleveland, Tenn.; niece, Kara and husband, Jim Potts, of Indianapolis, Ind.; aunts and uncles, Claude and Betty Tallent of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Trent and Mary Ottinger of Parrotsville, Tenn., and Bill Perry of Crestview, Fla..; and special friends, Lynne and Glen Edmondson of Maryville. The memorial service was held at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home with Pastor Garvan Walls officiating.
