Warren Henry Baker, age 88, went to meet his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 29, 2010, where the Lord said “Well Done Thy Good and Faithful Servant.” Warren’s faith was strong and remained steadfast throughout his illness. Warren was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Warren loved his family. His loving, kind and gentle spirit was an inspiration to all who knew him. To his beloved wife of 64 years, Helen, he was her best friend; her soul mate. To his precious daughters, Jan and Shara, he was their hero. To his grandchildren, Lori and Warren, he was their “Pap” and to his surrogate granddaughter, Mitzi, he was her “Uncle Worm”; the perfect role model and larger than life. He was a father figure to the late Marvin Brown and Betty Atkins. Warren was a proud veteran, having served in WWII and was a POW in Germany. He was recipient of two Purple Hearts. Warren was a long-time member of Valley Grove Baptist Church where he served his Lord gladly. Warren was preceded in death by his Parents, Rev. and Mrs. A.F. Baker, Sisters, Artha Armstrong, Carolyn Armstrong, and Grandchild, Wendy Michelle Reagan. Survived by his wife, Helen; daughter, Jan Reagan; daughter and son-in-law, Shara and Harold Gorman; grandchildren, Lori and Michael Blankenship; Warren and Jill Gorman; Mitzi and Donnie Carr, brother, Dott Baker, sister, Nanabelle Flynn, brother-in-law, Ralph Armstrong, daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Brown, and loved nieces and nephews.
